Xbox has announced its upcoming Developer Direct 2025, which will provide a detailed look at games coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass in the year ahead. The event will include an exclusive reveal of DOOM: The Dark Ages, a prequel to the 2016 DOOM and DOOM Eternal. This new title will dive into the origin story of the Doom Slayer’s rage, offering high-quality graphics that support DLSS 4, ray reconstruction, and path tracing technologies.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a fantasy RPG by Sandfall Interactive, marks the studio’s debut. The developers will share behind-the-scenes insights and reveal their plans for the game.
South of Midnight, a third-person action-adventure from Compulsion Games (the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), is set in a dark, modern folktale environment inspired by Southern folklore. The game follows the protagonist, Hazel, as she uncovers her family’s hidden past while navigating a mythical world filled with mysterious creatures.
All three titles were nominated for Most Wanted Game at The Game Awards 2024, alongside Grand Theft Auto VI, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Deadlock, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
